This involves analyzing new laws and trends to create syntheses for internal line managers across regional entities. Another core responsibility is the animation of professional communities. You will maintain collaborative digital tools, organize monthly meetings, and coordinate national events to ensure a cohesive approach to sustainability within the banking group. Additionally, you will handle data collection and reporting. This includes managing annual surveys to gather key indicators and creating communication materials to showcase the societal actions of the regional banks.

Key learning opportunities for this job

Successful candidates will gain deep exposure to ESG regulatory frameworks (such as CSRD and EU Taxonomy) within the specific context of the banking and financial services sector. Working at the Fédération Nationale provides a unique bird's-eye view of how a large-scale cooperative group operates. You will learn how to translate high-level group strategy into operational actions for diverse regional stakeholders. You will also sharpen your project management and communication skills by coordinating cross-functional initiatives and producing high-quality reporting and advocacy documents for executive levels.

How does the ideal candidate look like (experience, skills)?

The ideal profile is a student pursuing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Political Science, or Management. Excellent writing skills and the ability to synthesize complex information are essential for success in this role. Technically, you should be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint to handle data analysis and create professional presentations. Strong interpersonal skills are required to facilitate meetings and engage with various group representatives. A genuine interest in cooperative and mutualist values is highly valued, as the role involves promoting identity-driven sustainability projects rather than just standard corporate CSR.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, demonstrate your ability to simplify complex ESG regulations into actionable insights. Mentioning your understanding of the specific challenges faced by retail banking in rural and local territories would show great alignment. Tailor your application by highlighting any experience in community management or network animation, even from academic or volunteer settings. What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

The role centers on societal engagement and mutualism, reflecting the company’s roots in territorial development. You will likely focus on how regional banks can support the local energy transition and social inclusion. There is also a significant focus on Green Finance and ESG compliance. Balancing administrative rigor in reporting with the creative energy needed for community animation and stakeholder engagement can also be a challenging duality in the daily routine.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical day might start with monitoring industry news and drafting a short brief on a new environmental regulation to be sent to regional sustainability officers. You might then spend the afternoon in an animation workshop or a planning meeting for a national ESG event, discussing how to best showcase local solidarity initiatives on the group's collaborative platform. The day often concludes with data processing or document design, such as updating an Excel tracking sheet for annual CSR surveys or preparing a PowerPoint deck for a department head's presentation.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

This internship provides a high-level entry point into the banking sector, specifically within the sustainability and public affairs departments.
