Preguntas frecuentes

What are the main missions and responsibilities of this role?

As an intern within the global sustainability team, you will focus on the social pillar of ESG. Your primary mission is to support the Experience Forward Program, which targets experienced employees. You will be responsible for deploying engagement guidelines, coordinating with local teams globally, and ensuring the program is embedded into business functions rather than treated as a separate HR task. Beyond current programs, you will actively contribute to the development of the 2026–2030 sustainability strategy, known as Impact 2030. This involves helping to structure pilot programs, developing implementation tools, and ensuring that strategic transformation is tracked efficiently through rigorous reporting and data synthesis from various business units across the world.

Key learning opportunities for this job

You will gain deep exposure to how a global leader structures its long-term ESG strategy and transitions between multi-year sustainability cycles. Working on the Impact 2030 roadmap provides first-hand experience in strategic planning, materiality, and the operationalization of social impact goals at a massive scale. Additionally, you will hone your skills in intercultural project management and corporate communication. By interacting with teams across 100 countries, you will learn to adapt global guidelines to local regulatory and cultural contexts, a critical skill for any professional intending to work in international corporate sustainability or transformation management.

How does the ideal candidate look like (experience, skills)?

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a top-tier Business School, Sciences Po, or a specialized Master’s program focused on Social Innovation, CSR, or Corporate Strategy. High proficiency in English is non-negotiable, as you will be working daily within a global network of ambassadors and central stakeholders. Technical agility and a data-driven mindset are essential for this role. You should be comfortable synthesizing complex information into clear narratives and have a proactive, autonomous work style. Experience in change management or corporate communication is highly valued, as the role requires shifting mindsets and driving employee engagement across diverse business functions.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, highlight any experience where you successfully managed projects in a multicultural or international setting. Schneider Electric values its IMPACT culture, so demonstrate how you have taken initiative in the past to drive social or environmental change, even on a small scale, through specific and measurable examples. Research the company's current sustainability commitments and their position as a 'Most Sustainable Company.' Show that you understand the shift from environmental reporting to social equity and lifelong employability. Tailor your application by explaining why you are passionate about the 'social' aspect of ESG specifically, as this role is more focused on human capital than technical carbon reporting.

What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

This role is uniquely positioned to focus on the Social (S) in ESG, specifically targeting intergenerational equity and workforce resilience. While many sustainability roles focus on carbon, this helps ensure that the 'Human' element of the green transition is not overlooked by empowering experienced talent. Furthermore, you will be involved in the strategic design phase of the upcoming 2026–2030 sustainability cycle. This means your work will touch upon how the company defines its future social impact, from inclusion and diversity targets to how the business models its contribution to global citizenship and equitable development.

What are the main challenges someone in this role might face?

One significant challenge is the complexity of global coordination. Successfully rolling out a program across different regions requires navigating varying local regulations, team structures, and cultural attitudes toward work and career development for older employees. Another hurdle is moving the needle from 'HR policy' to 'Core Business Culture.' You will need to influence stakeholders who might be focused on short-term operational goals to see the long-term strategic value of these social sustainability initiatives, requiring strong persuasion and clear storytelling skills to secure total buy-in.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical day might begin with a global catch-up call with ambassadors in APAC or EMEA to monitor the deployment of the Experience Forward Program and troubleshoot local implementation issues. You might then spend your afternoon synthesizing data for the Impact 2030 pilot programs or drafting a strategic communication piece for the internal newsletter. Your tasks will vary between operational project tracking and creative content production. You might find yourself collaborating with the central sustainability team to design a reporting dashboard one hour, and then interviewing an employee for a 'success story' that will be shared with the global CEO the next.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

Internships at Schneider Electric are highly regarded and often serve as a pipeline for full-time graduate roles or internal rotations. Being involved in a CEO-led initiative provides high visibility within the corporate sustainability and HR organizations, offering a pathway toward becoming a Sustainability Manager or Transformation Consultant. The skills you develop in strategic change management and ESG strategy design are highly transferable. Gaining experience at the number one most sustainable company in the world is a powerful differentiator for any future career within the global impact sector or strategic leadership functions.

The main stakeholders you might be interacting with

You will regularly interact with the Global Sustainability & Corporate Citizenship team, which provides the overall strategic direction. You will also coordinate closely with HR teams and Business Leaders across different geographic zones to ensure local alignment with global programs. Other key stakeholders include internal communication specialists for crafting the narrative of'Impact 2030' and a worldwide network of ambassadors who act as the local implementers of the social programs you are supporting. This broad network provides exposure to both high-level executive strategy and grassroots employee engagement.
