What are the main missions and responsibilities of this role?

The successful candidate will take on a dual mission covering both corporate social responsibility and the prevention of occupational health and safety risks. This includes developing mechanisms to integrate CSR principles into internal business processes and ensuring that commercial agreements reflect the company's ethical commitments. Key responsibilities also involve the quantitative side of sustainability, such as collecting and analyzing ESG indicators for the group's CSRD preparation and extra-financial reporting. You will also play a crucial role in internal culture by designing training and communication plans to raise awareness among employees about sustainable values. On the social side, you will actively contribute to QVCT initiatives (Quality of Life and Working Conditions), focusing on the prevention of both physical and mental health risks to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.

Key learning opportunities for this job

Joining this team offers a deep dive into the regulatory landscape of the insurance sector, specifically regarding the Implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). You will learn how to turn high-level group directives into operational actions at a subsidiary level. Beyond administrative tasks, you will gain technical expertise in risk management and professional prevention methodologies. This includes learning how to measure the impact of psychosocial programs and environmental initiatives within a corporate structure. There is also a strong emphasis on communication skills; you will learn to craft compelling narratives for internal stakeholders, mastering responsible communication techniques to drive behavioral change across a diverse workforce.

How does the ideal candidate look like (experience, skills)?

The ideal profile is a student pursuing a Master's degree in CSR, Sustainable Development, or Human Resources with a focus on working conditions. A rigorous analytical mindset is essential for the data collection and reporting aspects of the role, combined with the creativity needed for internal engagement campaigns. You should demonstrate a solid mastery of the Office Pack, particularly Excel for data tracking and PowerPoint for presentations. Previous experience, such as an internship in sustainability or quality management, will be highly valued as it shows familiarity with the professional environment. Strong writing skills are non-negotiable, as you will be responsible for publishing intranet articles and formal reference documents. A proactive, curious nature will help you propose new ideas to improve the current processes.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, emphasize your ability to handle both social and environmental data. Since this role bridges the gap between 'Social' (QVCT) and 'Governance/Environment' (CSRD reporting), showcasing a versatile profile that understands these connections is vital. Research Groupama's mutualist model and explain how your personal values align with collaborative and democratic corporate governance. In your cover letter, mention a specific CSR challenge currently facing the insurance industry, such as climate risk modeling or ethical health coverage, to demonstrate industry awareness. Prepare to discuss your organizational skills. In a role involving multiple stakeholders and reporting deadlines, demonstrating how you prioritize tasks and ensure data accuracy will reassure the recruitment team of your reliability.

What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

The role is heavily focused on the Social and Governance pillars of ESG. A significant portion of the mission involves workplace safety and mental health, ensuring the company lives up to its promise of being a people-centric insurer through robust QVCT actions. From an environmental standpoint, you will likely focus on reducing the corporate footprint through employee awareness and operational process improvements. This includes operationalizing the group's decarbonization goals at the local subsidiary level. Governance is another key area, as you will be tasked with integrating CSR clauses into commercial contracts. This ensures that the company's entire value chain, including partners and suppliers, adheres to the same ethical and environmental standards as Gan Prévoyance.

What are the main challenges someone in this role might face?

One of the primary challenges will be the reporting complexity associated with the transition to CSRD standards. You might find it difficult to collect clean, consistent data from various departments that may not yet prioritize sustainability reporting. Managing behavioral change can also be an obstacle. Encouraging long-term employees to adopt new CSR practices or participate in QVCT initiatives requires persistence and highly effective communication to overcome potential inertia. Finally, balancing the diverse scope of the role—from technical risk prevention to creative communication—requires excellent time management to ensure that neither the legal compliance side nor the engagement side of the job is neglected.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical morning might start with analyzing ESG indicators or cleaning data for the annual reporting cycle, followed by a meeting with the Compliance team to discuss the integration of CSR clauses into new contracts. In the afternoon, you could shift to a more creative mode, drafting internal awareness articles for the company intranet or designing a workshop for employees on professional risk prevention and ergonomic best practices. Your day will likely end with stakeholder coordination, perhaps checking in with the group-level CSR team or communicating with external partners to ensure local actions align with the broader Groupama strategy.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

This apprenticeship serves as a high-quality entry point into the ESG sector, specifically within the financial services industry, which is at the forefront of sustainability regulation. Successful completion of this role could lead to internal opportunities as a Junior CSR Project Manager or a Health and Safety Officer within the Groupama network. The skills acquired in CSRD reporting are currently in high demand across the European job market. You will also build a strong network of compliance and audit professionals, providing paths into risk management or corporate strategy roles that prioritize sustainable performance.

The main stakeholders you might be interacting with

You will report directly to the Occupational Risk Prevention and CSR Lead, working closely within the Compliance, Internal Control, and Prevention department. Internally, you will interact with Human Resources for QVCT topics and various business lines to embed sustainability into their daily processes. You will also be a key contact for all employees regarding CSR sensitization and training initiatives. Externally, you may engage with service providers and partners to verify their alignment with your environmental and social standards. You will also have indirect contact with the group-level CSR teams to ensure reporting consistency.
