The objective is to move from a compliance-only mindset to an active improvement culture.

Key learning opportunities for this job

This role offers deep exposure to the practical implementation of ISO-aligned management systems in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. You will gain proficiency in data management, KPI tracking, and internal auditing processes.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, demonstrate your understanding of the specific environmental challenges in the food industry, such as water consumption, waste management, and energy efficiency. Mentioning your interest in the 'Engagé RSE' label held by the group shows you have researched their values. Highlight any previous experience where you had to simplify complex information for a diverse audience, as employee training and sensibilization are key components of this specific apprenticeship.

What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

The role focuses intensely on the environmental pillar of the group's sustainability strategy. Specifically, it targets the operational management of resources and the mitigation of industrial risks at the Plouédern site. What are the main challenges someone in this role might face?

One of the primary challenges will be the operationalization of procedures. Moving from a theoretical framework to something that floor workers can follow without disrupting production requires tact and clear communication. You may also face the challenge of data collection, requiring you to coordinate with different departments to ensure that environmental indicators are reported accurately and consistently across the site.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical day might begin with a site walk-through to observe environmental practices and compliance on the production floor. You might then spend time updating the environmental risk registry or drafting a new procedure for waste sorting. Afternoons could involve meetings with the Safety and Environment lead to review progress on KPIs or brainstorming a new training module for staff. The role is a mix of office-based analytical work and hands-on interaction with the production crew.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

Developing a management system from scratch is a high-impact project that provides a strong professional portfolio. Within the Goûters Magiques group, successful apprentices often gain visibility that can lead to permanent roles in HSE or CSR functions. The main stakeholders you might be interacting with

You will work most closely with the Safety and Environment Coordinator, who serves as your mentor. Interaction with production managers and operators is also essential to ensure that the management system reflects reality on the ground. Externally, you might occasionally interact with regulatory bodies or service providers involved in waste management and environmental monitoring, acting as a technical liaison for the site's environmental performance.
