Chargé de Mission Développement Durable

Covivio France Added on Jun 7, 2026
Apply →

Job FAQs

What are the main missions and responsibilities of this role?

The successful apprentice will be deeply involved in data collection and carbon footprint reporting. This includes managing energy consumption data for 2026 and supporting the company's compliance with the French Décret Tertiaire via the OPERAT platform. Beyond data, the role covers sustainable procurement by interacting with suppliers and tracking their ESG performance. On the social side, the apprentice will help organize internal awareness events like 'Sustainability Week' and coordinate partnerships with non-profit organizations.

Key learning opportunities for this job

A candidate in this position will gain technical expertise in French real estate regulations, specifically regarding energy efficiency laws and data management platforms. This is a prime opportunity to master the practical application of carbon accounting and ESG benchmarks within a large-scale corporate environment. The apprentice will also develop project management skills by organizing stakeholder engagement events. Exposure to a major listed company's sustainability strategy provides a comprehensive view of how ESG reporting influences corporate investment and operational decisions.

How does the ideal candidate look like (experience, skills)?

The ideal profil holds at least a Master 1 (Bac+4) in a generalist field with a specific specialization in CSR or Sustainability. The company specifically looks for individuals who have already completed a first internship or work-study program within a dedicated corporate sustainability department. Technical proficiency in Excel is essential for the reporting aspects, while strong analytical and writing skills are required for benchmarks and studies. English proficiency is necessary given Covivio's European footprint and international data reporting needs.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, emphasize your quantitative skills and any experience using energy management software or reporting tools, as carbon data collection is a heavy part of the role. Demonstrating an understanding of the real estate sector's specific environmental challenges, such as building decarbonization, will show professional maturity. Since Covivio values a 'living approach' to real estate, highlight your ability to collaborate across departments and your passion for creating positive social impact through community-focused events.

What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

The role bridges operational environmental performance and social strategy. On the environmental side, the focus is heavily on energy efficiency and climate transition for real estate assets, ensuring buildings meet strict carbon and consumption targets. On the social side, the focus shifts toward employee engagement and community relations. You will likely work on initiatives that promote a sustainability culture within the office and build bridges with local associations to fulfill Covivio’s societal commitments.

What are the main challenges someone in this role might face?

One significant challenge will be the accuracy and coordination of data collection across a diverse and large portfolio. Getting timely responses from suppliers and property managers requires both persistence and strong interpersonal tact. Additionally, keeping up with evolving ESG regulations in France and at the EU level will require constant learning and the ability to translate complex legislative requirements into actionable internal reporting tasks.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical morning might involve cleaning and analyzing energy consumption data to update the carbon footprint tracking. You might then shift to reaching out to suppliers to collect CSR assessments or attending a coordination meeting for an upcoming 'Green Meeting' event. Afternoons could be spent conducting sector benchmarks on sustainable construction practices or drafting reports for the management team. The day often ends with collaborative brainstorming sessions on how to improve internal awareness about environmental issues.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

Completing an apprenticeship at a SBF 120 company like Covivio provides a prestigious entry point into the CSR job market. The hands-on experience with high-level reporting frameworks makes the candidate a strong prospect for permanent ESG Analyst or Sustainability Manager roles. Internal growth is also possible given the company's size and European scale, offering potential transitions into specialized domains like Sustainable Finance or Asset Management with a green focus.

The main stakeholders you might be interacting with

You will regularly interact with the Sustainability Direction team and the procurement department to manage responsible purchases. There is also significant contact with external suppliers and property managers responsible for asset data. On the social and internal side, you will engage with HR and Communications teams to roll out employee events, as well as with non-profit partners for community-focused social initiatives.
