AECOM's New Team Paves Path for Energy Transition in Europe

Dallas-based infrastructure firm AECOM has officially launched an Energy Transition team aimed at addressing the evolving needs of clients navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition in Europe. This initiative responds to demands from various European stakeholders, including industrial hubs and port authorities, who are seeking to adapt to sustainable energy sources.

The newly established team will focus on providing decarbonization solutions, supporting the electrification of buildings and transportation through advanced generation, transmission, and storage solutions. AECOM emphasizes a commitment to integrated systems thinking to create efficient and equitable roadmaps for a resilient, low-carbon future that serves all sectors of society.

Helena Rivers, the Energy Transition Lead for Europe and India, and Duarte Catarino, Energy Transition Growth Lead for Continental Europe, will spearhead this strategic effort. Rivers highlighted the importance of this new sector, stating that it aligns with the demands of forward-thinking clients amidst rapid changes in the built environment. Catarino expressed enthusiasm for leveraging AECOM’s expertise to implement impactful energy transition projects across the region, combining global knowledge with local market insights.

This initiative positions AECOM to capitalize on the growing demand for energy solutions, including energy storage and innovative local solutions like heat networks and smart grids, as Europe strides toward a sustainable future.
