GRI Welcomes Robin Hodess: A New Era in Sustainability Leadership

26 décembre 2024

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has appointed Robin Hodess as its new CEO, effective February 2025. Hodess, who is currently the Chief of Strategy and Impact for The B Team—a nonprofit organization advocating for humane and climate-conscious business practices—brings a wealth of international experience in strategy, governance, advocacy, policy, and research.

Her selection follows an exhaustive global search and comes as GRI’s current CEO, Eelco van der Enden, prepares to step down at the end of 2024. Until Hodess assumes her role, Cristina Gil White will continue to lead the organization in her interim capacity.

Expressing her excitement, Hodess stated, “I am thrilled and honored to be joining GRI at such an important moment, when people and organizations everywhere are focused on how to achieve a sustainable future. GRI’s sustainability standards are unique in enabling meaningful reporting on the impact of these efforts. I look forward to working across the GRI community, and together with partners, to ensure that sustainability reporting drives a thriving, inclusive economy for all.”

The GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards are regarded as among the most widely accepted global benchmarks for corporate sustainability reporting, fostering consistent communication regarding sustainability across various sectors. Recently, GRI published updates to its standards as well as proposed new guidelines addressing climate change, energy transition, and biodiversity.

Cristina Gil White remarked on Hodess’s appointment, highlighting her unique qualifications and expressing anticipation for a collaborative effort to enhance the GRI’s impact on sustainability reporting.
