As a working student, the primary focus is on supporting the group's ESG reporting and data management. You will be instrumental in collecting and organizing data required for the Corporate Carbon Footprint, ensuring that calculations align with international standards. Additionally, you will assist in drafting the sustainability report under the new CSRD framework, which is a critical regulatory milestone for the company. Beyond data tasks, the role involves coordinating internal sustainability communications. This includes helping to design and deliver training sessions to improve ESG awareness among employees. You will also manage the documentation of meetings and work results to ensure administrative continuity within the sustainability department.

Principales opportunités d'apprentissage pour ce poste

This position offers a deep dive into the practical application of CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), one of the most significant regulatory shifts in European business. You will learn how a large, listed corporation navigates complex reporting requirements and how to calculate a Corporate Carbon Footprint across diverse business units, from ticketing platforms to large-scale music festivals. Furthermore, you will gain experience in corporate stakeholder communication. By participating in internal training concepts, you will learn how to translate complex ESG data into engaging narratives that drive cultural change within a fast-paced entertainment environment.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a degree program such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Communication Sciences, preferably with a specialization in sustainability. Since the role involves significant data handling and reporting, strong analytical skills and a precise working style are essential for success. Fluency in both German and English is a requirement, as CTS EVENTIM operates internationally. Previous internships or coursework projects related to greenhouse gas accounting or project management would be a distinct advantage, showing you have the foundational knowledge to hit the ground running.

Focus your application on your analytical capabilities and any specific experience you have with data-driven projects. If you have worked with Excel or reporting tools in a previous university project, highlight this to show you can handle the complexity of carbon footprinting. Since the company operates in the live entertainment sector, showing an interest in how large-scale events can be made more sustainable will demonstrate your cultural fit. Highlighting your understanding of current ESG trends like CSRD will also set you apart from other student applicants.

The role is heavily weighted toward environmental governance and transparency. A major focus is the quantification of the company's carbon footprint, which is the baseline for any credible climate strategy. You will be helping the company move from qualitative statements to quantitative, audit-ready ESG data. There is also a strong social and governance element involved in internal training. By fostering a culture of sustainability through communication, the role helps ensure that ESG goals are integrated into the daily operations of different business units, from venue management to event promotion.

One of the primary challenges will be the complexity of data collection across a decentralized group that includes various brands and international subsidiaries. Consolidating this information into a single, accurate report requires patience and strong attention to detail. Additionally, balancing academic commitments with the rigorous deadlines of financial and sustainability reporting cycles can be demanding. You will need to learn how to manage your time effectively while maintaining high standards of documentation for a listed company.

A typical day might begin with a team meeting to discuss the progress of data collection for the annual report. You might then spend a few hours reaching out to different departments to verify carbon footprint data or clarifying specific ESG metrics. In the afternoon, you could pivot to more creative work, such as helping to draft a presentation for an internal workshop or updating sustainability content on the intranet. The day usually concludes with documenting project milestones and ensuring all working files are organized for the wider ESG team.

As a working student in an MDAX company, you are positioned at the heart of a high-visibility corporate function. Performing well in this role can lead to future full-time opportunities within the sustainability department or related fields like Investor Relations or Corporate Communications. The skills gained here—specifically in CSRD and carbon accounting—are highly sought after in the current job market. This experience serves as an excellent launchpad for a career as a Sustainability Manager or ESG Analyst.

You will primarily interact with the core ESG and Sustainability team in Bremen. However, because reporting requires cross-functional data, you will likely communicate with staff in Finance, Procurement, and Facility Management across various European offices. You may also have contact with managers from the Live Entertainment segment, such as festival organizers or venue operators, to understand their specific operational impacts. External consultants or auditors involved in the report verification process could also be part of your broader network.
