This suits someone who is a recent or soon-to-be graduate in environmental science or energy management with a natural aptitude for data visualization and documentation. You should be eager to travel to project sites to gain grassroots experience.

FAQ de l’offre

What are the main missions and responsibilities of this role?

The primary responsibility of this role is to handle the data-driven backbone of the company's ESG operations. You will stay on top of weekly and monthly Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) trackers and ensure that Management Information System (MIS) data from across India is consolidated accurately. This involves a heavy focus on administrative excellence and technical data entry into the enterprise ESG portal. You will also be tasked with supporting the audit readiness of the ESG department. This means maintaining a central repository of compliance documents and closure tracking to ensure any gaps are addressed quickly. Furthermore, you will assist the team in translating raw data into meaningful insights for trend analysis and management dashboards, which are critical for investor reporting.

Key learning opportunities for this job

This position offers a deep dive into enterprise-grade ESG software, providing you with technical skills that are highly sought after in the sustainability consulting and corporate sectors. You will move beyond theory to understand how a large-scale energy company manages Pan-India compliance workflows across diverse geographical and regulatory landscapes. Additionally, you will gain hands-on exposure to ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) studies and site-level E&S support. This field experience is invaluable, as it bridges the gap between digital data reporting and the physical realities of operating renewable energy plants. You will also develop expertise in reporting frameworks like BRSR and GRI, which are standard in the Indian markets.

How does the ideal candidate look like (experience, skills)?

The ideal candidate is a proactive student or recent graduate in Environmental Science, Climate Science, or Energy Management. Since this is an analyst-heavy role, a strong command of Excel—specifically pivot tables and dashboards—is essential. Familiarity with PowerBI and carbon accounting principles will significantly set a candidate apart from the rest of the applicant pool. Beyond technical skills, the company looks for individuals with strong coordination capabilities. Because this role requires gathering data from multiple sites and teams, you must be a persistent and professional communicator who can manage deadlines and follow-up tasks efficiently. A genuine interest in the renewable energy sector and a willingness to travel for site visits are mandatory.

Advice to stand out and make a successful application

To stand out, demonstrate your data visualization skills by sharing a portfolio or examples of dashboards you have created in Excel or PowerBI. Given the focus on IFC standards mentioned in the company profile, mentioning your familiarity with international ESG benchmarks alongside Indian regulations like BRSR will show you have done your research on their specific operating context. Tailor your application to highlight any experience you have with multi-stakeholder coordination. Since the job requires 'follow-up and coordination skills,' emphasizing your ability to manage complex projects with various moving parts will resonate with the hiring team. Showing a clear understanding of the difference between C&I and utility-scale energy projects would also demonstrate high intent.

What aspects of the company's sustainability is this role likely to focus on?

The role focuses heavily on the governance and reporting aspects of sustainability. While the company's core product is renewable energy, your job is to ensure that the process of generating that energy remains compliant with environmental regulations and social safeguards. This includes tracking the company’s own carbon footprint and ensuring transparency for global institutional investors. You will likely spend significant time on EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) compliance. This involves monitoring site-level performance to ensure that the environmental benefits of the wind and solar projects are not offset by operational negligence, thereby maintaining the company's 'One Stop Shop' reputation for truly sustainable energy solutions.

What are the main challenges someone in this role might face?

A primary challenge will be data integrity and consolidation. Gathering accurate information from project sites across 23 Indian states requires patience and meticulous attention to detail. You may encounter delays or inconsistencies in reporting from the field, which will require diplomatic but firm persistence to rectify. Another challenge is the technical learning curve associated with GHG accounting and regulatory frameworks. For an entry-level candidate, the shift from academic concepts to applying reporting standards like GRI in a fast-paced corporate environment can be demanding. Balancing desk-based dashboard management with site-visit requirements also requires excellent time management.

How could a typical day look like for someone in this position?

A typical day usually starts with reviewing the ESG portal and checking for pending updates from various project sites. You might spend the morning consolidating MIS data into a master file and ensuring that all environmental compliance documents for the month are correctly filed in the central repository. In the afternoon, you could be working on PowerPoint decks for management review or investor updates, translating data trends into visual charts. This might be interspersed with coordination calls with site managers to close out pending HSE tracker items. Some days might be entirely spent on-site at a solar or wind farm, assisting with E&S documentation and ground-level audits.

What are the opportunities for professional growth and development in this role?

Successful completion of this internship or analyst role can lead to a full-time position within the ESG or HSE departments as the company continues its massive 5GWp+ expansion. It provides a platform to move into specialized roles such as ESG Consultant, E&S Site Lead, or Sustainability Reporting Specialist. Because the company is backed by global institutional investors, the exposure you get to international standards (like IFC guidelines) is a significant career accelerator. This experience is highly portable and valued in international sustainability circles, potentially opening doors to global roles in the energy transition space or ESG finance.

The main stakeholders you might be interacting with

You will regularly interact with the HSE and Site Management teams to collect data and ensure compliance at the project level. These interactions are vital for ground-level accuracy in your reports. Internally, you will also work closely with the corporate ESG team to support centralized reporting functions. Externally, your work contributes to communications with Institutional Investors and Auditors. While a junior role might not lead these meetings, your data and analysis provide the evidence for these high-level interactions. You may also engage with ESIA consultants during project site studies to provide logistical and data support.
