This role takes the lead on environmental strategy and operational compliance for GO Bus operations across Ontario. You will oversee the development of sustainability frameworks, track evolving legislative requirements, and ensure that complex transportation maintenance facilities meet high environmental standards. Beyond auditing, you will act as an internal advocate, advising on the environmental impact of new transit initiatives and managing the corporate Environmental Management System.
Working for a crown agency means your work directly affects the ecological footprint of a massive public infrastructure network. You will be at the heart of decarbonizing regional transit, translating high-level government mandates into practical, onsite protocols that protect local ecosystems and reduce resource consumption. It is a rare opportunity to manage environmental health within the context of a generational expansion of urban mobility.
This suits someone who possesses a deep technical background in ISO 14001 and environmental law, combined with the political savvy to navigate large public sector stakeholders and multi-disciplinary project teams.
