Sustainability Reporting Manager

The primary responsibility of this role is to architect and manage the ESG reporting framework for a global manufacturing giant. You will be tasked with the end-to-end coordination of data collection across diverse geographies and production sites, ensuring that all non-financial information is traceable, consistent, and auditable for external assurance. Beyond simple data aggregation, you will take a leading role in producing the Group’s annual Sustainability Report. This involves direct application of complex regulatory frameworks such as CSRD, ESRS, and the EU Taxonomy, transforming raw data into strategic disclosures that reflect the company's progress toward its People, Planet, and Prosperity goals. Additionally, you will handle external performance assessments by managing ESG questionnaires and ratings like EcoVadis. Your work will also extend to technical sustainability projects, including double materiality assessments, ESG risk mapping, and supporting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to quantify product-level environmental impacts.

Candidates will gain unparalleled expertise in the practical implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) within a large-scale industrial context. The ideal candidate brings between 2 to 5 years of professional experience, specifically within ESG consulting or a dedicated in-house sustainability reporting function. A rigorous analytical mindset is non-negotiable, as the role requires managing vast datasets with absolute precision to satisfy external auditors and regulatory bodies. Strong technical knowledge of frameworks like GRI, TCFD, and particularly the EU Taxonomy is essential. On a personal level, the candidate should be a proactive communicator capable of working across cultures in fluent English, possessing the diplomacy required to gather data from various global departments that may have varying levels of ESG maturity.

To stand out, demonstrate a clear understanding of the manufacturing and construction sector's specific ESG challenges, such as scope 3 emissions and resource circularity. Explicitly mention any past experience with external assurance audits or the transition from voluntary to mandatory reporting frameworks like CSRD, as this is a high priority for the Group. Through the management of EcoVadis ratings and LCA projects, you will help the Group demonstrate to clients and investors how its bathroom solutions contribute to water efficiency and carbon reduction throughout their entire life cycle.

The most significant challenge will be the harmonization of data from over 170 countries and 81 plants. Ensuring that a factory manager in a different continent reports data with the same methodology and accuracy as a local team in Spain requires persistent follow-up and robust process design. Additionally, navigating the rapidly changing regulatory landscape in Europe poses a challenge. Staying ahead of the specific nuances of ESRS while simultaneously managing operational tasks like client ESG requests requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize high-stakes compliance deadlines.

A typical day might begin with a meeting with the IT or Digital team to discuss the automation of energy consumption data from manufacturing sites. You could then shift to reviewing the latest draft of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) or analyzing a gap in the Group’s double materiality assessment. Afternoons might be spent coordinating with regional leads to troubleshoot data entry for an EcoVadis submission or clarifying EU Taxonomy criteria for a new investment project. The day often concludes with deep-dive analytical work in Excel, ensuring that the reporting dashboard accurately reflects the latest ESG performance metrics for the executive leadership team.
